This data protection and privacy notice provides information on how The E&V Export Ltd (also referred to in this notice as "we" or "us") uses personal data relating to users of its websites and services (referred to in this notice as "you"). Our websites and services are referred to in this notice as the "Sites" and the "Services".

It also contains information on marketing activities and the use of cookies on our Sites.

This privacy policy has been created in response to the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation – referred to, throughout, as GDPR.

1. What personal data do we collect and why?

1.1. Visiting our website
If you visit our website, we will log your IP address and aggregate details about site usage.

1.2. Contacting us

If you book a collection or use our shop services, we collect and process:

• Collection address and access details
• Weight measurements and item descriptions for pricing
• Payment information including bank details for £/kg payments
• Collection receipts and transaction records
• Driver/staff interaction records for service quality

We use this data to provide our collection services, calculate payments, and maintain business records.

We may also use your personal data for the purposes of:

• checking your compliance with our terms of service;
• website administration and maintenance, and quality control;
• investigating complaints and conducting risk assessments;

• Google reCAPTCHA: We use Google reCAPTCHA on our forms to protect against spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. This use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Maps: Our location pages use Google Maps to help you find collection points. When you interact with the map, Google may collect information about your usage. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled to understand how visitors use our website. See our Cookie Policy for details.

4. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interests: For website analytics, security (reCAPTCHA), displaying collection locations (Maps), and sending occasional service reminders to past customers - these are necessary for providing and improving our services
• Performance of contract: Processing collection bookings, payments, and communicating about your collection
• Consent: For cookies and analytics tracking through our cookie consent system
• Legal obligations: Where we need to comply with legal requirements

5. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

• Collection booking records: 2 years after the collection date for service records
• Contact form submissions: 2 years unless there's an ongoing inquiry
• Email correspondence: 2 years for customer service purposes
• Google Analytics data: Automatically deleted after 14 months
• Marketing consent records: Until you withdraw consent

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to any legal obligations we may have.

6. International data transfers
Your data may be transferred outside the UK/EU when using Google services (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Maps). Google adheres to GDPR requirements and uses appropriate safeguards including:

• Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission
• Data processing in EU data centers where available
• Compliance with UK and EU data protection laws

We have configured Google Analytics to use IP anonymization and minimize data sharing.

7. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

8. Marketing communications
